Police hunt men following Rosemeadow armed robbery

TWO men who held up Rosemeadow TAB at gunpoint have so far eluded police who descended on the suburb in large numbers in an effort to track them down this afternoon.

The pair entered the Thomas Rose Drive betting agency in Rosemeadow armed with a shotgun about 2pm.

They threatened staff and stole cash from the till before fleeing in a stolen car.

No-one was injured in the incident.

The car was later found abandoned on nearby Julius Road but the two men are still on the run.

Police discovered the shotgun and several items of clothing, which will undergo forensic tests, during a search of the area.

Residents told officers they saw the two males scaling several backyard fences in a bid to get away.

Witnesses saw up to 20 police cars driving towards the suburb this afternoon.
