JOSHUA Grant needs an employer to give him a chance to use his expanding skills set and determination to succeed in a job.
He is among the enthusiastic, potential employees Nova Employment hopes to find work for during its Focus on Ability campaign in Macarthur.
The campaign — backed by the Advertiser — aims to find 100 jobs for people with a disability in 100 days.
Mr Grant, of Camden, who has mild cerebral palsy which would have little to no affect on his working ability, is looking for work in the IT field or security surveillance.
He is currently volunteering at local charity Turning Point, assisting with computer courses.
"I'm helping them type up documentation, design flyers and also building their website," Mr Grant said.
"I like to complete all my tasks to the best of my ability and hate leaving things half done."
Mr Grant — a client of Nova Employment which has offices at Camden, Campbelltown and Ingleburn — has a licence, owns a reliable car and is willing to work anywhere across western Sydney.
Nova Employment chief executive officer Martin Wren is full of praise for employers in the local area, who have backed the campaign.
"It's been an absolutely fabulous start to the campaign and we've been delighted with the response from local employers, big and small," he said.
"The willingness of Macarthur's employers to give people with a disability a fair go and a chance to show off their skills is a vital component in our success and we are very grateful to the businesses that have either taken additional workers or hired a person with a disability for the first time."
Nastasia Hislop is Mr Grant's employment consultant and would love to hear from businesses looking for a first-class employee.
"Josh is very proactive, very enthusiastic and is always on time for our appointments — I can't speak highly enough of him," she said.
"If I owned a business I would employee him straight away."
