WESTS Tigers's 34-14 win over North Queensland at Leichhardt Oval has kept their finals chancess alive.
The six Tigers tries were scored Benji Marshall, Chris Lawrence, Taniela Tuiaki, Shannon Gallant, Corey Payne and Robbie Farah.
Marshall finished with 14 points, running in one try and kicking five goals.
Trailing 8-0 after only 10 minutes, the Tigers hit back, first with a try to Marshall to get them back in the game.
Leading 16-8 at the break, the Tigers allowed the Cowboys to come back into the game in the second-half.
Tigers mistakes enabled the Cowboys closed the score to within six points but two late tries sealed the game for the Tigers to give them a vital win and place them 11th on the NRL ladder, just four points adrift from the top eight.
Recording seven wins and 10 losses this season, the Tigers need to maintain their winning form during the final seven rounds of the competition to contest a finals berth.
The Tigers play an away game against Canberra Raiders on Sunday.
