WESTS Tigers skipper Robbie Farah becomes the fourth player in the club's 10-year history to play State of Origin tonight, Wednesday, at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, when NSW tackles Queensland in the series opener.
Farah joins former Tigers Terry Hill (NSW), Brett Hodgson (NSW) and Scott Prince (Queensland) gaining Origin representation while in Tigers' colours.
Farah, 25, has been waiting his entire career to fulfil his dream of playing for the Blues.
He takes over from former NSW skipper Danny Buderus, who joined British Super League club Leeds.
Origin kick-off is 8pm and is live on Channel Nine.
Farah was a spectator on Sunday as the Tigers suffered their fourth successive loss beaten 14-0 by the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland.
In driving rain and wet and slippery conditions the Tigers were kept scoreless.
Coach Tim Sheens has the task of regrouping the team for Friday's round 13 NRL clash against Penrith at Leichhardt Oval.
Sheens will hope Farah gets through the Origin match and be fit to play against the Panthers.
The Tigers are 12th on 10 points at the halfway mark of the NRL competition.
