ALL roads led to Coronation Park, Minto, on Sunday for a huge day of netball.
Onlookers could be forgiven for thinking a film crew had came to town to shoot a movie with the number of tents being pitched at the venue.
Claimed to be the largest one-day netball carnival in NSW, Campbelltown District Netball Association attracted thousands of players from throughout the state.
A total of 900 games were played during the day, featuring teams from as far afield as Orange, Cooma, Eurobodalla, Ulladulla, Mudgee, Cessnock and Queanbeyan.
The carnival gives junior representative players a chance to show their talents before the State Age Championships later this month.
Association president Shirley Connolly hailed the big day as a success.
Connolly was delighted with the number of people who attended the carnival and described Coronation Park as ``tent city''.
``This year 240 teams participated at the carnival,'' she said.
``In total, 197 representative teams from across the state were graded into 21 divisions aged from 11 to 15 years.
``In addition, five divisions of club teams competed.''
Campbelltown teams competed in each of the representative age groups and coaches were very pleased with team performances on the day, which resulted in Campbelltown's 15 years, 13 years and 11 years teams winning their divisions.
