SOUTH West Sydney Academy of Sport be back in next year's NSW Rugby League under-16 Harold Matthews competition.
This year the academy team played powerhouse clubs such as Newcastle, Canberra, Gold Coast, St George, Western Suburbs, Parramatta and South Sydney, without registering a win.
Academy executive officer Gerry Knights said the academy offered local athletes a once in a lifetime opportunity ' to play against the best in the country.
Knights said there had been enough inquiries from throughout Sydney to fill two teams when the academy entered a team into the 2009 competition.
The academy did not accept any out-of-district players.
The academy is supported by its seven rugby league partners, the NSW Rugby League, the Country Rugby League, Wests Tigers, Group 6 senior and junior football and Wests Magpies senior and junior rugby leagues.
Selectors are looking for skilled and committed coaching and support staff members. Applicants for coaching positions must have a minimum of level 2 accreditation and trainers and strength and conditioning coaches' level 1 accreditation.
A highly competent manager is also being sought.
Resumes are to be submitted to gknights@swsas.org.au before July 12.
Knights said sponsors were also required.
