Campbelltown Eagles defeated by Bankstown

CAMPBELLTOWN Eagles lost in another close Bundaberg Red Cup game on Saturday, going down 30-28 against Bankstown at Campbelltown Stadium.

The Eagles opened the scoring with an early try to Troy Gibbs.

Ray Nasso scored under the posts 10 minutes later and with Harding converting the Eagles had a handy lead at 12-0.

Bankstown hit back with a try but the Eagles went in again just before half-time with a try to Pat Franks.

Leading 18-6, the Eagles started the second half poorly, conceding three soft tries in 10 minutes to trail 20-18.

The Eagles fought back through a Stephen Harding try scored out wide.

Bankstown scored next to the posts to lead 26-22 and with six minutes remaining, Michael Bradstock scored to the give the Eagles a 28-26 lead.

But Bankstown scored almost on full-time to take all the points.

Best for the Eagles were Allan Soultan, Dayne Craig and Troy Gibbs.
