A GROUP of tradesmen protested at a Minto construction site late last month to raise awareness of the loss of their entitlements.
The fire-sprinkler fitters gathered at the site on Magnum Place along with representatives of the NSW Branch of the Plumbing Trades Employees Union.
The men were employees of Narellan company, All Hazard Fire Solutions, which recently went into voluntary administration.
They claim they have lost their entitlements and are now ``basically unemployed''.
Fire-sprinkler fitter Peter Edmonds said he and the other workers had not received superannuation and redundancy monies. He also said annual leave entitlements had been ``capped''.
``They've told us they won't pay,'' he said. ``We've got to chase it. We've made a claim for what we're owed. We've been putting pressure on them to pay us our entitlements.''
The Advertiser understands All Hazard Fire Solutions was contracted under Heyday Fire Technologies, a member of the Hastie Group of Companies.
Dave Broadley, assistant secretary of the union, said the workers were unfairly suffering.
``These guys have been working on the project from the start,'' he said. ``We're getting the run-around.''
Heyday and Hastie Group management declined to comment and All Hazard Fire Solutions could not be contacted.
