INGLEBURN Library, opened with a huge community party in 2009, celebrated its first birthday last week.
About 100,000 people visited the library in its first year and it attracted more than 3200 new members.
Campbelltown Council said it was four times bigger than the previous building and had many more resources.
The multipurpose building was officially opened on March 7. It not only included the library, but also a large community centre and a rejuvenated Hallinan Park.
Mayor Aaron Rule said the first anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate the impressive facility.
``Council is proud to provide residents with this first-class, contemporary recreational and educational resource,'' he said.
``It's fantastic to see so many more people utilising this excellent service in the heart of Ingleburn.''
The library and community centre was billed as having an innovative design including a 400,000-litre water harvesting capacity, sensor lighting and recyclable building materials.
Last year, the Ingleburn Library and Community Centre development received the Australian Property Institute NSW Excellence in Property Local Government Award for its community space.
