Wests Tigers will finalise a two-year in the next few days for glamour player Lote Tuqiri to rejoin the NRL ranks and play with the club for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
Tuqiri, 30, the former Australian Kangaroos, Brisbane Broncos and Queensland State of Origin star, will return to rugby league after seven seasons playing rugby union at the elite level where he became a dual international playing for the Wallabies.
Tuqiri, his management and the Tigers, will have further talks today, to rubber stamp his return after he was sacked by the Australian Rugby Union several months ago for breaching their disciplinary code.
The matter was then settled in a confidential agreement between Tuqiri, his lawyers and the ARU legal people.
Tuqiri who has played wing and fullback in league previously, has been earmarked to wear the No.1 jersey at the Tigers upon his return to the NRL.
Tuqiri played 99 games for the Broncos between 1999-02 before playing seven seasons in rugby for the Queensland Reds and the NSW Waratahs and 67 Tests for the Wallabies.
Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens also recently met Tuqiri to discuss joining the club.
