Tom Bass: gone but not forgotten

01 Mar, 2010 03:52 PM
Former Minto man and well-known Australian artist Tom Bass has died, aged 94.

Bass is known in Campbelltown for his sculpture of Elizabeth Macquarie in Mawson Park. He is survived by his wife and six children.

The family is expected to leave immediately after the funeral service to accompany Mr Bass' body to his final resting place.

They will join everyone for a celebration with friends, food and wine at his studio in Erskineville.

The family has requested donations to the Tom Bass Fund to help promote sculpture, instead of flowers.

The donation is tax deductible. Visit tombasssculptureschool.org.au for more information.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 3 at 9.30am at St Mary's Catholic Church located in 56 Burton Street, Concord.
