THREE men have been charged after an attempted armed robbery at Appin Hotel in the early hours of the morning of Monday, March 8.
Police said two men, armed with knives and metal poles, raided the pub at about 2am while a third man waited in a getaway car.
The duo allegedly put cash into a bag before trying to push a woman and the hotel licensee into a freezer.
The 41-year-old licensee resisted and was stabbed, suffering wounds and cuts to his arms, head and face.
He was later taken to Liverpool Hospital. The woman was also taken to hospital for a facial injury.
The two men left without the cash and the driver allegedly drove his car into the hotel.
The driver, a Moorebank man, 37, and an Auburn man, 20, were arrested at the scene.
Both were charged with robbery in company with wounding.
Two days later, a man, 33, was arrested in Picton and charged with robbery with wounding causing grievous bodily harm, detain in company with intent to obtain advantage, and break, enter and steal.
