ABOUT 30,000 revellers are expected to flow through the turnstiles when the 124th Camden Show erupts in a flurry of fun, festivities and good old country charm this week.
And the organisers are hoping a lot of them will be coming from Campbelltown. The action will take place at Camden Showground this Friday, March 19, and Saturday.
Camden Show Society secretary Lyndy Cornwell said: ``Our 124th show is themed `Still a Country Show' and offers all the thrills and spills of Sydney shows with an excellent two days of entertainment for the whole family.
``Camden Show is the largest single annual event in the district and the showgrounds will come alive in a frenzy of interesting activities and entertainment, from a huge a range of displays, demonstrations and stalls, to carnival rides and livestock events. The boutique stalls in the pavilion will feature local designers, craftsmen and gourmet produce, and there will be performances from students in music, dances and martial arts.
``Youngsters will love the face painting, balloons, Wests Tigers autographs, magic acts, and the Campbelltown-based Swordplay theatrical duellists.''
Also new to the Camden Show in 2010 is the Young Farmers Challenge, in which teams of farmers aged 15 to 30 will demonstrate their skills, equipment and farming techniques.
The Camden Show Friday Night Rodeo has returned for another year and this year the popular Clintons Toyota V6 HiLux Heroes will perform.
A fireworks display will bring the fun to an end with a bang.
