BUCKETS were lined up inside Minto Mall last week to catch rainwater leaking through the roof, sparking another round of disgust in shoppers.
A shopper was furious that an electronic game had an attached cord leading to a power-board laying in a puddle of water outside the Big Lot.
By last Tuesday, most of the buckets were taken away leaving the water dripping onto the floor.
Owners Michael Kwok and Helen James, of Kapb Management in St Leonards, still refuse to return any of the phone calls made by the Advertiser.
Savills Australia real estate agency was given the job of selling the rundown complex last August but an accountant at Kapb said the mall had not been sold.
A Minto resident, who did not wish to be named, said she was ``bewildered'' that no one would intervene.
``There are so many words to describe the mall like decrepit, dangerous, disgusting and dirty,'' she said.
``I have lived in Minto for about 28 years and my husband's family have lived in the area for 103 years Minto Mall hasn't always been this way.''
The shopper said she remembered when the mall had ``everything''.
``There were a variety of shops and celebrity chefs would visit the mall and have displays,'' she said.
``I can't see why people have let it go like this especially when everyone has been complaining about it.
``My greatest fear is that someone will seriously injure themselves or even be killed because of the safety hazards at the mall.''
Last June, former mayor Russell Matheson called the Minto shopping centre ``disgraceful'' and publicly called on its owners to sell it and let someone else run it ``properly''.
Workers at Kapb initially told the Advertiser that Mr Kwok and Ms James were at lunch but later told the paper that the pair were overseas.
The duo also own Fairmont Resort in the Blue Mountains, which has been criticised as rundown and neglected.
