Cops taser Ambarvale man

13 Sep, 2010 09:30 AM
CAMPBELLTOWN Police used a taser to arrest a knife-wielding man at Ambarvale on Saturday (September 11) morning.

Officers from Campbelltown Local Area Command responded to reports of an altercation between two men at a house on Martha Way, Ambarvale, about 12.30am.

Upon arrival at the scene, police observed one man push another from the front verandah of a house.

Police approached and spoke with the 27-year-old male resident, while the other man went inside a neighbouring property.

He returned a short time later armed with two large knives and walked past police towards the male resident.

Police called on him to stop but he continued on, causing an officer to deploy his Taser.

The 26-year-old man was then arrested without further incident and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

It was expected he would be charged with armed with intent to commit serious indictable offence and refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court.
