$7500 boost for fair treatment for all Australians

06 Nov, 2009 03:00 AM
WERRIWA MP Chris Hayes announced $7500 in grants last week under the Diverse Australia Program, which helps to ensure fair treatment for all Australians, regardless of their cultural background or circumstances. The Mukti-Gupteshwar Mandir Society received $3000 for its project ``Getting to know Minto''. The Association Bana-Kinshasa of NSW received $4500 for its project ``Cultural Exchange''. Mr Hayes said these projects opened doors for everyone involved. ``The grants help local organisations tackle issues of intolerance or exclusion,'' he said.
