Two named as art judges

THE JUDGES for the 2010 Parliament of NSW Aboriginal Art Prize have been announced. Poet, film writer and professor of philosophy Romaine Moreton and ABC radio presenter Daniel Browning will decide who gets the $20,000 first prize awarded annually to an indigenous Australian artist who belongs to a NSW language group or was born in NSW.

Contributing artists must be age18 and over, the work must not exceed two metres by two metres and must have been produced in the last 12 months without being previously exhibited. Second prize is a College of Fine Arts professional-development award which includes a two-week residency and solo exhibition at the COFA space gallery.

Entries close on Saturday, June26 and the winners will be announced at the opening on October20. There will be a display of selected entries at NSW Parliament House from September 29 to October28 before touring NSW next year.
