Ticking art sparks creative thinking

24 Oct, 2009 03:00 AM
WHEN the Wollondilly Art Group decided it would paint a series of clocks with the theme It's About Time, Lavinia Zammit thought of frogs and climate change.

``My message is that it's about time we protected our environment and that includes our frogs,'' Zammit said.

``In the Wollondilly Shire area we have an endangered frog species and we've got so many frogs on the property where I live.

``They're part of our ecosystem and the cycle of nature and we need to look after them.''

The project aims to unite local artists and expand art in the area, as well as encourage people to join the art group.

The clocks will be on show at the Wollondilly tourist office and sold at the shire's creative markets.
