FATHER Mark DeBattista, of St Paul's Catholic Church Camden, befriended pianist Eric Genuis while he was working with university students in the United States.
Father DeBattista has organised a series of church concerts by this brilliant young artist to celebrate the 150th anniversary of St Paul's.
At his recitals, Genuis also tells the stories behind the pieces he plays and of the struggle and anguish that went into so many of them and of the hope they convey.
Performances include Mary Immaculate Eagle Vale this Friday at 7.30pm, Holy Family Ingleburn on Saturday, St Thomas More Ruse on Sunday, St John the Evangelist Campbelltown on November9, St Paul's Camden on November13, Mount Carmel Varroville on November16 and Our Lady Help of Christians Rosemeadow on November18.
