THE Screaming Jets will perform in Campbelltown with Shannon Noll in October, but relations between the two were not always friendly.
Dave Gleeson, frontman for The Screaming Jets, said many fans would be scratching their heads over the double act in light of his past jokes about Noll.
``When Shannon first came to prominence I was bagging him because of the whole Australian Idol thing.
``But he came up to me at a gig that we were both on and fronted me about it and said, `You been saying stuff about me?' and I said, `Nup' and then felt like a dog about it,'' Gleeson said. ``Then when a gig in Queensland came up I had to eat humble pie and say sorry for what I said and he really took it well.
``We had a big drink and we thought it would be nice to do a tour some time.''
The two bands will perform on October 8 at Campbelltown RSL.
Gleeson said the audience should expect a loud, sweaty rock gig with lots of expletives.
Noll, currently in the middle of an acoustic tour, said he was itching to play a rock set.
``Acoustic shows are fabulous, you get to create different versions of songs, but blasting out hard with a full band, electric set is what I really love doing.''
Gleeson said the gig would also be tinged with sadness for The Screaming Jets, who will be saying goodbye to their guitarist, Izzy Osmanovich.
``The two weeks we'll be on tour will sort of be Izzy's farewell.
``We've tried everything to make him stay, but he has to do what he has to do.''
Gleeson said locals could apply for the role.
