Psychic values scepticism

DEBBIE Malone said she has had a number of near-death experiences, has been strangled by a ghost and is said to has a particular gift for catching spiritual entities on camera.

The psychic and spirit photographer will share her knowledge at a workshop in Picton next month.

``It should be fun out at Picton because last year there was lots of stuff going on and my hotel room had lots of ghosts in it,'' Ms Malone said.

``We had lots of energy in the tunnel. There's a hooded man there, I don't know who he is but I didn't like him, he was pretty creepy.

Ms Malone said she had been spooked during an incident in the tunnel during a previous workshop.

``I was thinking this person was annoying me because they kept bumping into me. I stopped to say `Can you stop being so close?' but when I turned the rest of the group was way back, no one was there.''

Ms Malone said Picton was full of ghosts.

She said workshop participants were also likely to encounter something other-worldly.

``I think that they'll probably get temperature changes, they might just feel like they're not alone or might hear voices,'' she said.

``Sometimes you get a smell, to me it smells like dirt.''

Ms Malone said her most intense spiritual encounter occurred at Maitland jail, where claims she was strangled by a ghost.

``I had the marks on my neck for 18 months,'' she said.

``I felt myself being grabbed by the throat and lifted.

``I was terrified but I wasn't going to give in because it was being filmed for a reality TV show and I also learnt a lot about myself and I suppose it made me want to get into spirit photography.

``I'm a bit sceptical and I want proof so that's why I do it.''

She said she believed what she caught on camera was spirit energy and that new technology such as digital cameras were constantly capturing new things.

``I've filmed the orbs in infrared and they seem to be a conscious entity,'' Ms Malone said.

``I've actually spoken to them and said, `If you can understand what I'm saying could you change shape' and they go from circles to diamonds.''

The workshop will be held at the White Waratah Retreat in Picton on Saturday, June 5. The cost is $350. Details: debbie@betweentwoworlds.net, 95455954 or 0414224382.
